Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to support the Enterprise Project Management Office in shaping risk governance across major transformation programs. You will partner with senior leaders to identify, assess, monitor and manage risks, delivering practical risk advice and insights that inform decisions.

The role focuses on driving risk maturity, facilitating risk workshops, and coaching stakeholders across complex portfolios within Australia's aviation sector.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience applying ISO 31000 risk management principles across complex programs.
• Experience undertaking quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and reporting.
• Experience leading risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and control reviews across programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Experience facilitating risk governance activities and coaching stakeholders.
• Excellent written reporting to senior leaders and executives.

The Role & The Team

The Senior Risk Advisor will play a key role within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), partnering with program and project teams to identify, assess, monitor and manage risks across transformation portfolios. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you will provide practical risk advice, deliver meaningful insights, and contribute to the continual uplift of risk capability and culture across Airservices.

The Person

You are an experienced risk professional who can influence stakeholders, facilitate robust risk discussions, and provide practical solutions in complex environments. You build trusted relationships and communicate risk insights clearly to support effective decision-making.

The successful applicant will have:

• Demonstrated experience applying ISO 31000 risk management principles, frameworks and practices across complex projects, programs or portfolios.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, providing risk insights, reporting, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.(Important requirement. May be considered desirable if the talent pool is limited.)
• Experience leading risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and control effectiveness reviews across complex programs and projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels.
• Experience facilitating risk workshops, forums and governance activities, and coaching stakeholders in practical risk management application.
• Excellent written communication and reporting skills, including the ability to present risk information and recommendations to senior leaders and executives
