Job summary

Stratford Health Hub in Cairns, Far North Queensland, is seeking a senior physiotherapist with cardiorespiratory experience to develop this service area. The role includes respiratory assessment and treatment, supporting patients with reduced exercise tolerance, and coordinating care with exercise physiologists and other clinicians.

You’ll manage general musculoskeletal and complex rehab cases, while growing the respiratory caseload and marketing your expertise to the referral network.

About Stratford Health Hub Stratford Health Hub is a small allied health clinic providing specialised care for people with neurolodegenerative, MSK acute & chronic and complex health conditions. Our services include physiotherapy, exercise physiology and dietetics and we run group programs for Parkinson’s disease, bone health, balance, strength and oncology.

We bring together clinicians with different areas of expertise to help people improve their function, confidence and quality of life. Our approach combines individual treatment, exercise and practical support, with close collaboration between clinicians and referring healthcare providers.

About the role

We’re looking for a senior physiotherapist with cardiorespiratory experience to develop this area of our service. This role will complement our existing work in chronic disease management, cardiac exercise programs, oncology and rehabilitation. You’ll provide respiratory assessment and treatment, support patients with reduced exercise tolerance, and contribute to coordinated care alongside our exercise physiologists and other clinicians.

What you’ll do

Your caseload will also include general musculoskeletal and complex rehabilitation presentations, but as a senior we expect you to grow the respiratory caseload. Marketing to our referral network with regards to your experience and conditions that you can provide support with

Assess and treat patients with respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Provide breathing strategies, airway clearance and individual rehabilitation programs. Help patients rebuild strength, mobility and endurance following illness or hospitalisation.

Manage a broader physiotherapy caseload, including musculoskeletal and chronic conditions. Work closely with our team, GPs and specialists, and maintain clear clinical documentation.

About you

You’ll have a recognised physiotherapy qualification, current Ahpra registration or eligibility to practise in Australia, and clinical experience of minimum 5 years in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. You’ll bring sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills and an interest in working with people with complex health needs. Experience in hospital care, respiratory and/or cardiac rehabilitation, and working with older adults would be highly regarded.

What we offer
