Job summary

The University of Queensland is seeking a Senior Research Assistant to support mental health studies, coordinating projects and applying advanced research methods. This part-time 40% FTE, fixed-term role is based at the St Lucia campus and runs through to 28 February 2027, with base salary from $97,268 to $104,348 plus 17% superannuation.

You will contribute to study design, data collection and analysis, maintain records, and ensure ethical compliance while working in a collaborative psychology

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant degree in Psychology with subsequent experience coordinating research activities, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
• Demonstrated research knowledge and skills across a range of specialist and general techniques.
• Significant experience coordinating small-scale research projects and studies.
• Experience working in a psychology laboratory or related research facility or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritisation and deadline management.
• Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to produce clear documentation.
• Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders in a research environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake advanced research activities and apply specialist knowledge in scientific methodologies.
• Coordinate small-scale research projects, contribute to study design and develop protocols.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, assist with reports and manuscripts, contribute to joint outputs.
• Ensure ethics compliance, uphold research housekeeping standards and support safety culture.
