Senior Mental Health Clinician, Community Mental Health – St George Mental Health Service

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Psychologist, Social Worker Level 3
Remuneration: $39.01- $65.22 per hour, plus superannuation
Hours Per Week: 19
Location: Kogarah, Sydney

Are you an experienced and motivated senior mental health clinician who has a strong interest in community mental health and looking for a challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic service providing coordination of care to consumers with complex mental illnesses and rehab needs. As a senior clinician, you will be working closely with the clinical manager in providing leadership and mentorship within the team.

Where you'll be working

You will be working in the St George Adult Mental Health Service, Kirk Place Kogarah, in one of the care coordination teams.

Selection Criteria:

  • Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award Current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; or qualifications in Psychology with a minimum four-year degree with a major in psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia; or current Authority to Practice and current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with at least five years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience and post-graduate qualifications relevant to the area of specialty or such other qualifications.
  • Experience working in mental health with commitment to the principles of a consumer-focused recovery-oriented approach.
  • Experience in leading quality improvement activities including policy development.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Evidence of advanced practice skills in the assessment and management of complex mental health clients in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of mental health outcome and assessment tools and activity data in the development and review of care models.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and support of clinical staff
  • Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence
