Job summary

Dawson Heating & Cooling is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Technician to join our Canberra team. This senior role combines service and project work across commercial and residential HVAC systems, offering responsibility and variety on-site.

You will diagnose faults, interpret plans, and deliver high-quality installations while mentoring apprentices and junior techs. A strong safety focus and proactive, right‑first‑time attitude are essential for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (required).
• ARCTick & Restricted Electrical Licence (required).
• Experience across service and install work."

Your day-to-day:

• Working across service and project-based HVAC work
• Diagnosing faults and delivering effective solutions
• Interpreting plans and carrying out high-quality installations
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior techs
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Representing the business professionally on-site

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
• Has ARCTick & Restricted Electrical Licence
• Has solid experience across both service and install work
• Can work independently and take ownership on-site
• Takes pride in quality workmanship and problem-solving
• Has a proactive, “get it done right” attitude
