Job summary

Trideca in Sydney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Mobile to join a health services project. You will build mobile-first features in React Native, with collaboration across web and backend with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own quality end to end — testing, troubleshooting, code review, and testing strategies spanning unit, integration and end-to-end coverage.
• Identify, prioritise and advocate for technical debt reduction, and lead the refactoring that improves maintainability and system architecture.
• Drive performance optimisation and scalability, and establish quality metrics, logging, monitoring and alerting so system health is observable rather than assumed.
• Coordinate technical decisions and integration points with other engineering teams, and contribute to engineering chapter meetings and wider technical discussion.
• Partner with infrastructure and DevOps on deployment and operational excellence, and with security on secure coding practices and vulnerability management.

About the role

Trideca islookingfor a Senior Software Engineer – Mobile to work with one of our client who is aleading Australian health services organisation, joining a Connected Health technology squad and reporting directly to the squad's Engineering Lead. The team builds customer-centric digital experiences with a mobile-first mindset, primarily in React Native.

Your core focus is mobile, but the squad owns its work end to end, so you will also contribute across web and backend systems alongside Product Managers, Designers and Engineers. If you ship iteratively, take a test-and-learn approach, and care as much about performance and maintainability as you do about getting the feature out, this role gives you room to do all three.

What You'll Be Doing

What You Bring

• Strong React Native mobile application development experience, with a track record of shipping high-quality apps.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• A strong grasp of mobile UX, performance and cross-platform considerations.
• Experience with React on the web, or a comparable frontend framework.
• Experience working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
• Good understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.

Nice to Have

• Backend development in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Understanding of API design, authentication and integration patterns.
• Exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Testing frameworks across unit, integration and UI/end-to-end.
• Familiarity with debugging and monitoring tools such as Crashlytics.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of accessibility and design systems.
