Job summary

Rail Systems Australia seeks a Principal/Senior Systems Engineer (SESA) to lead a team of systems engineers in railway projects based in Perth, WA. You will guide requirements management, system integration, and safety analysis across concept, design and implementation stages.

You will apply ISO/IEC 15288 and CENELEC standards, coordinate interface management, and mentor staff while engaging with clients and contractors to deliver reliable rail solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified with significant experience as Principal/Senior Systems Engineer in railway-related systems.
• Demonstrable understanding of requirements management processes in line with systems engineering principles.
• Experience with tools for developing and maintaining requirements specifications (e.g., IBM DOORS, HP ALM).
• Understanding of interface management processes and methodologies within systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking and managing Requirement and Configuration Management activities.
• Developing and managing project-specific System Integration plans and processes.
• Developing and managing project-specific verification and validation processes and plans.
• Managing Safety Requirements creation and register.
• Developing and managing Interface registers, stakeholders, and interface management tools.
• Coordinating Interface Hazard Analysis (IHA) and OSHA activities with safety engineers.
• Providing client advisory services related to System applications.
• Engineering principles to Railway Technology projects from concept to implementation.
