Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Brisbane seeks a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer with rail industry experience to lead the mechanical design and verification for rolling stock projects. You will organize technical work, coordinate safety in design, and prepare detailed requirements and installation procedures for complex rail systems.

The role offers opportunities to develop strategies for new technologies, engage with clients, and mentor junior staff while contributing to ongoing major rolling stock

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree with rail industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and coordinating technical strategies for mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Organise and plan technical aspects of operational projects for rolling stock.
• Design, checking and auditing mechanical systems, and prepare documentation for requirements and safety in design.
• Prepare responses to tenders and bidding opportunities.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to the Rolling Stock team.
• Support the professional development of less experienced consultants.
