Job summary

Pinnacle Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive highways and Civil experience to join a Main Contractor on a major highways framework. You will report to the Commercial Manager and manage cost control, valuations, and subcontractor administration.

The role covers monthly cost/value reporting, earned value analysis, procurement scheduling, and active risk and change management on a £100 million project. On-site presence in Cambridge is required.

• Experience in highways/civil projects and contracts.

• Knowledge of valuations and variation management.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on commercial issues within the project(s).
• Prepare monthly Cost/Value Reports for Commercial Manager/MC.
• Prepare valuations/payments with full documentation per contract.
• Prepare cost reports and earned value calculations monthly.
• Manage subcontractor/supplier accounts and procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontract payments to final accounts.
• Produce early warning notices and change control records.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

A Main Contractor are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a Highways project on frame works worth up to £100 million on a on going project. The Client are seeking a experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive Highways and Civil experience and will report to a Commercial Manager on the Project.

Senior Quantity Surveyor shall be responsible for:

• To provide assistance, support and guidance on all commercial issues within the Project(s)
• Preparation of internal Cost/Value Reports on a monthly basis to satisfy the requirements of the Commercial Manager / Managing Quantity Surveyor and any other reports which may be required.
• Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the contract.
• Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client on a monthly basis with full supporting documentation.
• Preparation of earned value calculations and detailed projected project outturn costs on a monthly basis.
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material Procurement Schedules.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
• Production and rigorous management of Early Warning Notices and associated registers.
• Preparation, negotiation and agreement of Compensation Events/variations, extension of time claims, etc.
• To assist in identifying and proactively managing all commercial risks and opportunities and carrying out value engineering exercises.
• To encourage and develop a culture of contractual awareness within the site team and ensure that the full contractual entitlement is achieved by rigidly managing records, contractual notifications, change control, etc.
• Prepare and update budgets and cash-flow / expenditure profiles for your section.
• Attend regular meetings with Contracts Director(s)/Contracts Manager(s) as and when required.
• To suggest potential improvements and introduce where agreed with the Commercial Manager.
• To promote the company at all times.
• Manage QS’s as required.
