Job summary

Seymour Whyte Constructions is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Western Region team for the Great Eastern Highway Underpass project. Based in Binduli, WA (10km West of Kalgoorlie), the role offers project uplift, DIDO and LAFHA benefits, and the chance to contribute to a highly complex infrastructure project.

Key duties include quantity control, cost planning, forecasting, and liaison with Engineers and QA staff. Tertiary qualifications and 5–10 years' experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years’ experience in construction cost planning, tendering or project delivery.
• Experience with Schedule of Rates based contracts is highly regarded.
• Experience and proficiency in 3D/GIS modelling packages such as Autocad, 12D, TBC or similar.

Responsibilities

• Close liaison with the Project leadership to support the project model, electronic quantity take-offs and control across various levels of tasks, cost codes and revenue pay items.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the client’s Standard Method of Measurement and allocate quantities accordingly
• Contribute to monthly project reporting and forecasting, including reconciliation of quantities to date, monthly progress and at completion
• Engagement with Engineers and QA staff on quantity interfaces with the QA system, lot records, WBS and progress
• Manage subcontractor quantity control, where applicable based on subcontract type
