Job summary

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality across our Building & Construction portfolio in Australia. You will own the ISO 9001 QMS, audits, training and continuous improvement, working with project teams to raise standards.

Reporting to General Manager – Construction Major Projects, you’ll mentor Quality Coordinators, develop systems, KPIs and reporting for senior leadership, and influence site teams to deliver quality on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the application and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System across Building & Construction.
• Support annual external certification audits and ongoing ISO 9001 certification requirements.
• Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, templates and systems.
• Establish quality objectives and KPIs and report on performance and trends.
• Develop and standardise a Building & Construction-wide library of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Review project-specific ITPs and ensure appropriate hold points, witness points and acceptance criteria are established.
• Develop and lead the annual internal quality audit program across projects and functional areas.
• Conduct site and desktop audits and support project teams with corrective actions.
• Own and oversee NCR and defects management, identifying trends and recurring issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver practical quality workshops and training for project and site teams.
• Mentor and support Quality Coordinators and Advisors.
• Work closely with Technical, Design, Construction and Project Managers to resolve quality issues.
• Prepare quality performance reporting for senior leadership.
• Represent the quality function with clients, certifiers and regulatory bodies.
• Provide quality input into major tenders and project quality management plans.
