Zip is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer on a 9-month fixed term contract in Sydney. You will lead automation across API, web, mobile, and integration layers, embedding tests into CI/CD and driving quality ownership with engineering teams.

You’ll explore AI-assisted approaches, improve test coverage, and collaborate to deliver reliable, scalable platforms. This hybrid role requires strong coding and a collaborative mindset to strengthen quality across customer journeys.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on coding and automation across API/web testing.
• Experience embedding automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to communicate quality risks and trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable automated testing across API, web, mobile and integration layers.
• Lead quality engineering for priority initiatives, including risk assessment and release readiness.
• Embed automated testing, quality gates and feedback into CI/CD pipelines to enable confident releases.
• Improve automation coverage across critical customer journeys, focusing on reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with software engineers to identify high-value quality gaps and implement practical solutions.
• Explore AI-assisted testing approaches to improve test design, automation, and productivity.
• Create reusable frameworks and tooling to reduce manual testing dependencies and enable sustainable quality.
