Job summary

Handy Finance in Australia is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own the test automation strategy and frameworks across our platforms. You will lead automated regression, API, and end-to-end testing while embedding quality early in the software lifecycle.

You will mentor QA engineers, establish testing standards, and drive continuous improvement through CI/CD integration and quality metrics. This is a hands-on leadership role for a fast-growing fintech team.

To support our rapid scale, we’re seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our high-performing technology team and take ownership of our test automation strategy, frameworks and quality practices across our technology platforms.

What You’ll Do

As our Senior QA Automation Engineer, you’ll:

• Own and maintain the overall test automation strategy and frameworks


• Lead automated regression, API, integration and end-to-end testing


• Perform exploratory and manual testing where required


• Work closely with Developers and Technical Leads to embed quality earlier in the software development lifecycle


• Establish testing standards and quality gates across software releases


• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and continually improve automation coverage


• Lead defect identification, investigation and root-cause analysis


• Monitor testing outcomes and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement


• Drive continuous improvement across testing tools, processes and practices


• Provide technical leadership and mentor QA engineers

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in a Senior QA Automation, QA Lead or QA management role


• Strong hands‑on experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks


• Experience across web, mobile, API and integration testing


• Strong knowledge of regression, integration and end-to-end testing


• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development environments


• Strong understanding of APIs, databases and modern software development practices


• Experience leading or mentoring QA engineers


• Strong technical leadership and problem‑solving skills


• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on software quality


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced development environment
