Job summary

McConnell Dowell in Geraldton, WA is seeking a Senior Quality Advisor to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of project quality systems, ensuring works meet contractual, design and quality requirements. You will work with the Project Manager, Quality Manager, engineering team and subcontractors to promote quality on site, applying QA/QC practices in a hands-on construction environment.

• Strong knowledge of construction quality systems, inspection and test plans, non-conformance management, audits and quality documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and collaborate with site and project teams to drive quality.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills for fast-paced environments.
• Experience with complex infrastructure or marine construction projects is highly regarded; engineering or quality qualification is advantageous.

About the project

We're pursuing an exciting marine infrastructure project in Geraldton, Western Australia, creating an opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure works in a stunning coastal location with easy access to urban amenities and an enviable regional lifestyle.

This opportunity offers the chance to support quality outcomes across a complex construction environment, working alongside experienced project personnel to help deliver works to the required standards and specifications.

About the role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Quality Advisor to support the implementation and continuous improvement of project quality systems, ensuring construction activities, materials and completed works meet contractual, design and quality requirements.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Quality Manager, engineering team, site supervision and subcontractors, you'll play an important role in promoting quality across the project. This is an opportunity for a hands-on quality professional to contribute their expertise in a collaborative project environment, with the flexibility to bring a quality assurance background from either an engineering or construction discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project quality systems, inspection and test plans, checklists and quality documentation in line with contractual and project requirements.


• Coordinate site quality assurance and control activities, inspections, testing and quality surveillance to verify compliance with specifications and approved documentation.


• Conduct quality audits and review subcontractor and supplier quality systems, identifying non-conformances, corrective actions and opportunities for improvement.


• Maintain accurate quality records, registers and reports, monitoring quality performance and escalating emerging issues and trends to project management.


• Work collaboratively with engineering, construction and site teams to promote quality awareness, resolve quality issues and support the successful delivery of project works.

Experience with complex infrastructure or marine construction projects will be highly regarded. A relevant engineering or quality qualification is advantageous but not essential.
