Job summary

Western Union in Sydney is seeking a Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance (Fixed Term) to support AML Compliance with policies, procedures and programs to minimize risk.

The role covers developing and enforcing QA processes, reporting, and working with operations, compliance and technology to embed quality standards. This 24-month fixed-term engagement includes exposure to AUSTRAC, APRA and ASIC requirements and opportunities to strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA, quality control, or operational risk in financial services, fintech, or regulated industry.
• Understanding AML/CTF obligations, sanctions and AUSTRAC/APRA/ASIC regulations.
• Strong ability to review files, identify gaps, and provide actionable feedback.
• Exceptional accuracy in reviewing documents and data with a compliance lens.
• Experience producing QA reports, trend analysis and process improvement recommendations.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, compliance and technology teams.
• Proven mindset for identifying inefficiencies and improving workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication for clear feedback and documentation.
• Familiarity with case management/AML tools; certifications like CAMS/ICA are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce policies, procedures and programs to minimize compliance risk.
• Manage compliance requirements for assigned business units and agents.
• Support reporting and regulatory relationships with agencies and agents.
• Ensure adherence to company policies related to compliance across units.
• Evaluate internal controls via transaction analyses, reviews and training.
• Follow up on review findings and communicate assessments to management.
