Job summary

PlaySide Studios, Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Senior QA in External Projects to drive the quality control process for all PlaySide EXP titles, supporting the QA team in maintaining the highest standards of gameplay experience. You will participate in testing, assist with defect tracking, and contribute to creating thorough test documentation for both live and upcoming releases.

This role offers hands‑on experience and growth opportunities within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

• Minimum understanding of the game development lifecycle.
• Experience with testing processes and QA methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Coach and coordinate testers in the quality control of all PlaySide titles and contribute to the overall quality within the studio
• Independently plan and execute testing, appropriate to the project’s scope and risks
• Produce clear defect reports, prioritize player impact and maintain useful regression coverage
• Assess functionality, usability, controls and presentation across frequent builds
• Use testing tools and assisted workflows while checking the relevance and accuracy of their output
• Lead triage and assess release readiness

Position Overview:

As a Senior QA in our External Projects division, you will drive the quality control process for all PlaySide EXP titles, supporting the QA team in maintaining the highest standards of gameplay experience. You will participate in testing, assist with defect tracking, and contribute to creating thorough test documentation for both live and upcoming releases. This role offers hands‑on experience and growth opportunities within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Coach and coordinate testers in the quality control of all PlaySide titles and contribute to the overall quality within the studio
• Independently plan and execute testing, appropriate to the project’s scope and risks
• Produce clear defect reports, prioritize player impact and maintain useful regression coverage
• Assess functionality, usability, controls and presentation across frequent builds
• Use testing tools and assisted workflows while checking the relevance and accuracy of their output
• Lead triage and assess release readiness

What You Bring to the Table:

• High-level gaming proficiency and mechanical skill (bonus if you have a diverse background across various platforms)
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities while working on multiple projects
• Experience in Ai and/ or Agentic pipelines
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly and seek guidance when needed
• A solid understanding of the game development pipeline
• Think laterally and have a good understanding of games, how they work and the systems and design behind them
• Have a can‑do with the ability to turn a negative into a positive, no problem is too great
• And a passion for games
