Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer for a hybrid role based at the McKell Building in Haymarket, Sydney. The position delivers high value procurement outcomes to support critical telecommunications services across NSW and sits within the NSW Telco Authority's SCPM team.

The role requires governance, compliance, and continuous improvement expertise, with end-to-end sourcing, contract and vendor management in a government setting.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing procurement policies, procedures and control frameworks.
• End-to-end procurement and contract management experience in government or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert procurement governance, compliance, assurance, and risk management advice to ensure procurement activities comply with legislative, policy, and agency's requirements.
• Provide strategic procurement advice and support to SCPM sourcing team and stakeholders on end to end sourcing, contract management, and vendor management activities.
• Monitor and enhance procurement governance, compliance, and control frameworks, driving continuous improvement and capability development initiatives.
• Support procurement leadership in the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of procurement governance frameworks, policies, processes, procedures, and associated guidance materials.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement and commercial risks while ensuring compliance with probity, governance, audit, and assurance requirements.
• Develop and implement category strategies that deliver value for money outcomes, manage risk, and support agency's objectives.
• Prepare high quality procurement documentation, briefings, reports, and recommendations to support sound decision making and governance outcomes.
