OpenAI is seeking a Senior Account Director to lead public-sector work across ANZ, with responsibilities to develop priority APAC opportunities. You will build trusted relationships with government leaders, execute account strategies, and move opportunities from interest to adoption on OpenAI Platform API, Codex, and ChatGPT Enterprise.

The role requires executive-level communication, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration across sales, delivery, and policy teams.

Qualifications

10+ years in government/public-sector technology sales, business development, consulting, or systems integration.
Direct government experience with sensitive agencies and regulated environments.
Current Australian Government security clearance.
Designing and executing complex deal strategies across procurement, qualification, and negotiations.
Experience working with senior public-sector executives and decision-makers.
Knowledge of Australia public-sector procurement, security, privacy, and compliance.
Selling enterprise SaaS, cloud, AI/ML, data platforms in regulated environments.
Clear communication of technical, commercial, and strategic concepts to executives.
Collaborating across Sales, Solutions, Partnerships, Engineering, Legal, Policy, and Finance.
High ownership and sound judgement in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Willingness to travel within ANZ and APAC.

Responsibilities

Own a focused ANZ public-sector account portfolio and expand opportunities in APAC.
Develop and execute comprehensive account plans mapping priorities and procurement paths.
Drive complex opportunities through the full sales cycle: discovery, capture, negotiation, adoption.
Lead public-sector customers through their AI adoption journey and identify high-impact use cases.
Translate requirements between government, end users, and internal technical teams.
Be the accountable customer lead with milestones, adoption measures, and commercial commitments.
Collaborate with Partnerships, SI, cloud providers, and local delivery partners.
Develop capture strategies, competitive positioning, and win themes for ANZ/APAC.
Navigate procurement, security, privacy, data residency, and compliance requirements.
Build trusted relationships with senior government executives and operational users.
Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and executive reporting.
Monitor landscape to inform product roadmaps and GTM strategy.
