Job summary

GE Vernova in Sydney seeks a Secondary System Engineer to design protection, control and auxiliary systems for HV/MV substations on transmission and generation projects. You will lead a small team, guide design, and ensure compliance with Australian and IEC standards.

Travel up to 30% is expected; you will engage in testing, commissioning and documentation while upholding EHS standards and driving improvements within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Science or Engineering, with major in electrical engineering.
• At least 4-5 years’ working experience in power system protection, such as design, testing, and commissioning.
• Ability to travel onsite up to 30% as required by project needs.

Responsibilities

• Design the protection, control, and auxiliary systems for HV/MV AIS & GIS substations.
• Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects per standards and procedures.
• Carry out testing of protection systems at factory and on site.
• Document technical data in line with engineering policies and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership to project personnel.
