Job summary

City of Gold Coast is seeking a Senior Property Officer – Acquisitions & Divestments to lead land acquisition, divestment and valuation programs. You will work with internal teams, consultants, landowners and government agencies to negotiate complex property matters while ensuring compliance with legislation.

You will prepare valuation reports, advise on acquisitions and disposals, and coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for major infrastructure and community

Qualifications

• Registration as a Registered Valuer in Queensland and Associate Member of API (Certified Practising Valuer).
• Extensive experience managing complex property acquisitions, divestments, leasing or land management projects.
• Knowledge of Acquisition of Land Act, Land Valuation Act, Land Act and related statutory requirements.
• Experience preparing property valuations, market assessments and professional reports.
• Strong project management and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of land acquisition, divestment and property management programs per legislative requirements.
• Prepare valuation reports meeting industry and audit standards.
• Provide expert property advice to City branches, consultants and public on acquisition/divestment matters.
• Prepare and review Council reports ensuring accuracy and commercial soundness.
• Project manage complex property transactions from initiation to settlement.
• Negotiate settlements for complex property matters, including Land Court representations.
• Prepare and review legal documents including settlement deeds and Notices of Resume.
• Manage annual land asset valuation program and drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
