People, Property and Security Division

The People, Property and Security Division works in partnership to deliver strategic and operational workforce services that enable and enhance organisational capability. The division provides stewardship, support and services across integrity; conduct; property; fraud and corruption; security; performance management; rehabilitation management; recruitment; learning and development; inclusion and diversity; workforce planning and analytics; workplace relations; people support; culture and health, safety and wellbeing.

The Property Services Branch forms part of the People, Property and Security Division and has responsibility for enhancing the department’s business capability through the effective management of the department’s property portfolio, property enabling functions, protective security, emergency management, as well as a range of corporate site services and commercial contracts nationally.

The Job

The duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • supporting the department’s facilities management services, ensuring safety and compliance, and optimising occupancy,
  • overseeing development and delivery of preventative maintenance for the department’s sites, including building services, inspections, and condition assessment reports,
  • providing leadership to Property and Security Branch staff, allocate and oversee works of junior team members, provide coaching, capability development and problem solving,
  • supporting the delivery of courier and mail services locally and nationally, including general contract management,
  • undertaking procurements of goods and services, in alignment with Commonwealth Procurement Rules,
  • engaging and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve required outcomes, support positive relationships and ensure communication of upcoming works or procedures,
  • managing transition and handover of project and business-as-usual activities,
  • participating in relevant governance meetings and represent the Department during working group meetings,
  • providing issue resolution and communication for internal and external stakeholders and escalate issues that have a wider departmental impact on staff or business continuity.

Remuneration

APS 6 - $95,438 - $108,360 per annum plus superannuation

What are we looking for

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or experience:

  • Experience in managing a small team to deliver Facilities or similar services.
  • Knowledge of the Commonwealth Property Management Framework.
  • Experience in Construction Project and Program Management.
  • Experience with Legislation and industry standards relating to property, particularly the Building Codes of Australia.
  • Knowledge in Facilities Management
