Job summary

Hickory seeks a Project Planner to lead the construction schedule for a hyperscale data centre project in Melbourne, focusing on MEP installation, commissioning, and systems integration. You will align design and delivery teams with realistic timelines.

The role requires a strong background in commercial construction, expertise in Primavera P6 or MS Project, and the ability to manage multiple interfaces and risks to keep the program on track.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Planner within commercial construction.
• Experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning software.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience highly regarded).
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site delivery.
• Ability to work closely with site teams and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to align the construction program with project goals.
• Utilize project management software for creation, updates, and management of construction schedules.
• Conduct critical path and risk analysis to prioritize tasks and allocate resources.
• Provide real-time schedule updates to project teams for informed decision-making.
• Optimize resource allocation and balance priorities across project phases.
• Follow change management procedures and apply lean construction principles.
• Forecast needs and assess time impact of changes on timelines.
• Ensure schedules comply with industry standards and safety requirements.
• Facilitate team collaboration through workshops and training.
