Job summary

Safer Care Victoria in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead improvement projects within the Improvement Branch, applying improvement science to deliver safer, higher quality care for Victorians.

You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage project life cycles, and monitor progress against objectives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.

Applicants with healthcare experience and PM qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in fields related to health administration, medicine, nursing, midwifery, paramedic, pharmacist or allied health is desirable.
• Certified project management qualifications highly regarded.
• Certified improvement qualifications highly regarded.
• Previous project management experience is essential (healthcare setting highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• End to end ownership for the full life cycle of projects and delivery of improvement initiatives by applying strong project management discipline to ensure delivery against scope, timelines, budget and outcome objectives.
• Prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language and ensure appropriate style and formats are used.
• Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills to gain agreement to proposals and ideas and explore alternatives while maintaining key objectives.
