Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of key government programs and projects. This role focuses on stakeholder engagement, governance, communications and project coordination within a large Federal Government environment.

Under broad direction, you will assist Project Managers to plan, monitor, govern and report activities, contribute to implementation readiness, stakeholder communications and change

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Officer, Senior Project Officer or Change Management professional
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience supporting governance forums and executive reporting processes
• Ability to manage competing priorities and tight timeframes
• Knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile or PRINCE2

Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our clientfor an experienced Senior Project Officerto support the delivery of key government programs and projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional with strong stakeholder engagement, governance, communications and project coordination experience to contribute to complex, high-impact initiatives within a large Federal Government environment.
Working under broad direction, you will support Project Managers and Delivery Leads to ensure project activities are effectively planned, monitored, governed and reported in line with established project management frameworks. You will also play a key role in implementation readiness, stakeholder communications and change management activities.

Contract Details

• 12-month initial contract
• Locations: Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate project activities to support successful delivery outcomes
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and delivery documentation
• Prepare project status reports, executive briefs and governance papers
• Coordinate governance meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums
• Maintain project documentation, RAID registers and governance artefacts
• Develop and manage communication plans and stakeholder engagement activities
• Prepare project communications, updates, implementation notices and briefing materials
• Create communication products including FAQs, newsletters, presentations and intranet content
• Support change management and business readiness activities
• Coordinate stakeholder consultations and readiness assessments
• Monitor and report on communication and engagement activities
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience as a Project Officer, Senior Project Officer or Change Management professional
• Strong project coordination, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience supporting governance forums and executive reporting processes
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes
• Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks, including Agile, PRINCE2 or similar
• Experience developing project documentation, reporting and governance artefacts
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-level materials

Desirable Experience

• Experience within Federal Government environments
• Exposure to digital health, interoperability or government ICT projects
• Experience working within large, complex transformation programs
