Overview

8 month role – Logan or Brisbane CBD location (Logan preferred). Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join a key taskforce.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply project management skills and knowledge to successfully plan, deliver and evaluate a Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) aerial treatment project.
  • Use proficient ArcGIS geospatial analysis skills to process and visually present information relating to the project.
  • Use established line management and people management skills to support in the management of the project team.
  • Use a solution-focused mindset to overcome challenges and drive efficiencies in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Actively engage with government agencies and other stakeholders to build relationships and organise consents.
  • Provide effective project coordination, reporting and tracking of project activities including project deliverables and risks.
  • Lead project data recording processes utilising departmental programs, including mapping, field data capture and integration into National Fire Ant Eradication Program IT systems. Ensure sound governance of data collection, storage, analysis and reporting of results.
  • Provide technical advice to large landholders in areas targeted for aerial treatment on the effective implementation of fire ant management, including risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment and reporting.
  • Plan and coordinate activities that engage and support large landholders to accommodate aerial treatment of the land they own or manage, and to undertake land-based treatment of any areas not aerially treated.
  • Represent the Department at workshops, field days, meetings and engagements with large landholders to promote fire ant management activities and options.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including various functions in the National Fire Ant Eradication Program and FAST.
