Job summary

Alder Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead civil and infrastructure projects across Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW. You will drive planning, procurement, and delivery while mentoring teams and managing client relationships.

With 23+ years in the industry, you will oversee safety, quality, schedule and budget, coordinate multiple teams, and support the estimating function to procure future work. This is a principal leadership role within a growth-focused firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Project Manager within Civil & Infrastructure.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred.
• Proven track record delivering civil infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Strong commercial acumen with programming, budgeting and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative approach with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proficiency with project management and digital construction systems.

• Prepare project reports and oversee close-out and final contract administration.
• Support estimating to procure work for Civil & Infrastructure General Manager.
• Review drawings, specs and documentation pre- and during project.
• Organise and chair project start-up meetings with the project team.

About the role

• Manage project planning, programming, forecasting and cost control.
• Lead project delivery, ensuring safety, quality, programme and financial objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver successful outcomes.
• Identify and manage project risks, variations and contractual obligations.
• Review project documentation and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare project reports and oversee project close-out and final contract administration.
• Provide support and assistance to the estimating team to help procure work as required by the Civil and Infrastructure General Manager
• Peruse in detail all project drawings, specifications and all other relevant documentation prior to project commencement and throughout project duration.
• Organise and chair project start up meetings with the project team and all supporting pillars
• Manage all head contract claims (variations, extensions or time, progress etc.)

About You - Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• 5+ years' experience as a Project Manager within the Civil & Infrastructure sector.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline (preferred).
• Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in programming, budgeting and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach, strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
• Proficiency with project management and digital construction systems.
