Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage & Solar, with NSW, QLD or VIC responsibility and remote/home-based options. You will lead end-to-end delivery of C&I BESS projects from contract award through commissioning, energisation and handover.

The role requires hands-on BESS delivery experience, deep technical knowledge of battery systems, BMS/inverter integration, safety and fire compliance, plus DNSP approvals and strong stakeholder management

• Coordinate clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Senior Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage & Solar

Location: NSW, QLD or VIC | Remote/Home-Based

Salary: $170,000 + Super

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available with a growing renewable energy business specialising in commercial & industrial energy solutions, including large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar integration.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong, hands-on BESS delivery experience to take ownership of projects from contract award through to commissioning, energisation and handover.

This is a battery-first role. You will need genuine technical knowledge of commercial battery systems, including system architecture, BMS/inverter integration, safety, fire compliance and commissioning. Solar PV experience will be highly regarded.

The Role You will manage a portfolio of C&I energy projects across NSW, QLD and VIC, working closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, DNSPs and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of C&I BESS projects, covering design, procurement, installation, commissioning, energisation and handover.
• Provide technical oversight of battery systems, including battery chemistry, AC/DC coupling, BMS and inverter integration, thermal management and fire safety.
• Manage DNSP approvals, network requirements, metering and export/import arrangements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, variations, procurement, subcontractor management and commercial risk.
• Coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key Requirements
