Job summary

Rest is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a complex insurance initiative across Technology, Digital, Information Security, Product, Procurement and external partners. You will steer delivery from initiation to implementation, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality standards.

You will collaborate with internal teams and vendors, manage governance, risks and benefits realisation, and mentor a project team to enable delivery excellence within a regulated financial services

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent in technology, PM or related field.
• Relevant Project Management certification.
• Experience delivering complex projects in hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects with governance and risk management.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting to align with funding and objectives.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead a complex insurance initiative aligned to Rest's strategic priorities. Working across Technology, Digital, Information Security, Product, Procurement, Service Delivery and external partners, you’ll drive delivery from initiation through to implementation, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, ensuring effective planning, governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and financial reporting, ensuring delivery remains aligned to approved funding and business objectives.
• Track and realise business benefits, supporting successful adoption and transition into business-as-usual operations.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, vendors and delivery partners to drive alignment and successful outcomes.
• Apply project governance frameworks, providing clear reporting, escalation management and delivery oversight.
• Manage external vendors and implementation partners, ensuring contractual obligations, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
• Lead and mentor project team members, fostering collaboration, capability development and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Technology, Project Management or a related discipline, with relevant Project Management certification.
• Demonstrative experience delivering complex projects/programmes in hybrid Agile and Waterfall environments, managing scope, budgets, schedules, governance and RAID.
• Proven experience delivering complex third-party vendor and commercial engagements.
• Demonstrated experience leading customer-facing insurance transformation initiatives, ideally within claims.
• Strong track record delivering projects to agreed scope, budget, schedule, quality and benefits realisation outcomes.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams comprising internal SMEs, contractors, vendors and implementation partners.
• Strong financial and governance capability, including business case development, forecasting, dependency management, benefits tracking and executive reporting.
• Experience applying project delivery methodologies, governance frameworks and controls within enterprise environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and issue management skills, with the ability to manage complexity and delivery trade-offs.
• Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Technology, Information Security, business teams and external partners.
• Experience within superannuation, insurance, financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and deliver to deadlines in fast-paced environments.
