Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager ready to take ownership of critical capital works within a complex health environment?

Overview:

A unique client-side opportunity arising from paternity leave will see you working with an expanding, fresh capital works team. The culture is proactive, driven and focused with a collaborative and ' can-do' attitude. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with immediate commencement.

The Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of capital works across a diverse healthcare portfolio. From planning and design through to procurement, delivery, commissioning, and handover, you will ensure projects are executed with precision and compliance, with minimal disruption to live clinical environments.

Operating in a highly regulated setting, you will play a key role in upholding robust governance frameworks and ensuring all projects meet stringent safety, compliance, and risk management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full lifecycle of capital projects, including refurbishments, engineering plant and equipment upgrades (HVAC), and fitouts, ensuring alignment with strategic, clinical, and operational objectives.
• Drive project governance, including business cases, approvals, reporting, and audit compliance
• Manage design development in collaboration with clinical stakeholders, ensuring functionality, safety, and future flexibility
• Oversee procurement processes in line with organisational and government requirements
• Manage contractors and consultants to deliver works safely within a live healthcare environment
• Ensure rigorous compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and healthcare-specific guidelines
• Lead commissioning, validation, and seamless handover to operational teams
• Monitor budgets, timelines, and risks, with strong governance reporting and controls in place

About You

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Project Manager with specialist knowledge in health with strong communication skills.

You will display:

• Proven experience delivering capital works projects within hospitals, including CSSD environments or similar
• Strong understanding of project governance frameworks, approvals processes, and compliance requirements
• Qualified in Engineering, Construction, Project Management and Architecture
• Experience working in live environments where safety, stakeholder management, and continuity of operations are critical
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with clinical and executive teams
• Commercially astute with a strong focus on risk management, quality, and delivery outcomes
