Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering and project delivery experience, including leadership of complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and professional engineer credentials preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools; PM accreditation preferred
• Experience in tendering, proposal development and commercial project considerations
• Client-focused, commercially minded delivery leadership with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage conflict

About the role

You'll oversee and coordinate high-profile, high-value projects across NEN Consulting, leading client engagement and project delivery in line with agreed scope, budget, quality standards and organisational expectations. Reporting to our Projects Director, you'll lead and coordinate indirect teams of engineers and consultants, working closely with subject matter experts, contractors and senior internal stakeholders to ensure effective delivery. You'll collaborate with our Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer to align resources and deliverables, and contribute to tenders, fee proposals and business development activities that support repeat work and strengthen NEN Consulting's reputation as a trusted partner.

What you'll be doing

Lead and coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects in line with agreed scope, technical standards and client requirements

Oversee project planning and delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management and reporting

Apply project management frameworks, tools and controls (e.g. Microsoft Project) to manage risk, quality and delivery performance

Lead and coordinate indirect teams of engineers, consultants and contractors to deliver outcomes safely, efficiently and within agreed parameters

Act as the key operational client contact, building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

Coordinate subject matter experts, vendors and contractors to support seamless project execution

Contribute to tenders, fee proposals and project bids, identifying and supporting business development opportunities

Collaborate with our Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer to align resources and deliverables across projects

About you

10+ years' relevant engineering and project delivery experience, including leadership of complex, multidisciplinary projects, with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading project management teams

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical); Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility, and Registered Professional Engineer (NER, RPEV or equivalent) preferred

Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, legislation and regulatory frameworks

Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools; project management accreditation (e.g. PMBoK, PRINCE2, AS ISO 21500:2022) preferred

Demonstrated experience in tendering, proposal development and commercial project considerations

A client-focused, commercially minded delivery leader with strong analytical and problem-solving capability

Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage conflict constructively
