Working within a collaborative and highly capable team, you'll partner with contractors, consultants and operational stakeholders to deliver projects that directly support the future of aviation safety and emergency response capabilities nationwide.

The Organisation

Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world's airspace and the provision of aviation rescue fire fighting services at Australia's busiest airports.

Our people are our greatest asset, with a dynamic and diverse workforce operating across metropolitan, regional and remote locations throughout Australia. Together, we help connect people safely with their world while supporting economic growth, trade and tourism.

Airservices is committed to fostering a culture that is diverse, inclusive and respectful. We encourage motivated individuals who value collaboration, accountability and service excellence to explore a career with Airservices.

The Role & The Team

As a Senior Project Manager within the ARFFS NexGen Program, you will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent infrastructure and construction projects across Airservices' Eastern Region portfolio.

You will oversee all phases of project delivery, including planning, design management, procurement, tendering, contractor engagement, construction delivery, commissioning and project close-out. Working across a geographically dispersed stakeholder network, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with operational requirements.

This role forms part of a close-knit and experienced project team that values collaboration, transparency and practical problem-solving. You will have the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure programs while working alongside project professionals delivering complex outcomes across the Airservices network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets and governance requirements.
  • Managing consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
  • Monitoring project performance, risks, issues and project dependencies.

  • Supporting the successful delivery of ARFFS NexGen and associated infrastructure initiatives.
  • Driving safe project delivery outcomes and compliance with organisational governance frameworks.

Please see the Position Description below for further information regarding the role and responsibilities.

You are an experienced project professional with strong construction and infrastructure delivery expertise. You enjoy working in complex stakeholder environments and have a proven ability to lead projects from concept through to operational handover.

You are commercially astute, outcomes-focused and comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and delivery excellence.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience delivering complex construction, infrastructure, facilities or capital works projects.
  • Strong contractor, consultant and contract management capability.
  • Experience managing project governance, schedules, budgets, risk and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects concurrently across different locations.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience.
  • Experience operating within government, aviation, transport, utilities, critical infrastructure or similarly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
  • Qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
