Job summary

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to lead complex building projects, oversee contract administration and risk management, and foster strong stakeholder relationships. The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

The Building Projects Directorate provides end-to-end advisory and project management services to support government agencies in the construction, refurbishment, replacement and demolition of building assets.

This role suits an experienced project management professional who can lead complex building projects, oversee contract administration and risk management, and build effective stakeholder relationships. Success requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, sound judgement and the ability to deliver quality outcomes in a complex environment.

Educational Qualifications / Licences

Technical or construction related qualification is not essential but preferred; however, proven project management experience in construction industry projects is essential.

Special Conditions

A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
