Job summary

The Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations in Darwin is seeking a Senior Project Officer to provide administrative, project coordination and advisory support across the Emergency Management unit. The role leads strategic projects, ensures timely delivery and governance alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience in organisation and project management from inception to evaluation.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to prepare reports, briefs and papers.
• Experience engaging, collaborating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage high workloads with competing priorities and work independently.
• Political awareness and professionalism in sensitive environments.
• Understanding NT regional and remote business factors and government strategies.
• Willingness to travel within the Territory and interstate (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide effective project management for identified projects, including development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, processes and systems to support timely, compliant delivery of funded programs and projects.
• Interpret and integrate legislation into practical operational context with systems and procedures.
• Mentor and support staff within the unit as part of a team.
• Travel within the Territory and interstate to support duties as required.
