UGL, part of the CIMIC Group, seeks a Project Team Leader to lead electrical design and engineering on the M6 Stage 1 road infrastructure project in NSW. You will manage design, procurement, construction and commissioning documentation, and mentor engineers under the Discipline Lead Electrical.

The role requires safeguarding safety and SHEQ, delivering within budget, and providing essential support to procurement, construction and commissioning teams while coordinating with the project team.

Qualificações

• Min. 6 years electrical project engineering experience on large-scale road infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Relevant Rail Industry Worker competencies.
• Development of SHEQ processes and experience managing others in SHEQ activities.

Responsabilidades

• Develop understanding of the overall project and communicate it to the project team.
• Contribute to Design Management Plans and provide status updates to the project program.
• Ensure design templates, interface management and deliverables are consistent.
• Review outputs for compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Plan and conduct necessary design reviews, verifications and validations.
• Ensure design safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operation are met.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams to deliver the project.
• Liaise with authorities on permits and approvals.
• Monitor design timelines and close out design issues with reviewers.

M6 Stage 1

M6 Stage 1 is a vital transport initiative designed to transform the southern road network of Sydney. As this landmark development advances through key construction delivery phases, our delivery team is expanding. We are looking for motivated professionals who want to elevate their careers, gain exceptional major project exposure, and play a hands‑on role in the successful delivery of this city‑shaping infrastructure.

About The Role

This role will perform the Electrical Design and Engineering function for projects and is accountable to the Discipline Lead Electrical (initially for the M6 project).

It is responsible for managing the timely delivery of the design, procurement, construction and commissioning documentation as related to projects for the electrical functions.

The position is also required to provide mentorship and support to engineers within the electrical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of the overall project and effectively communicate such understanding to the applicable Project Team members under his/her supervision;
• Contribute to and maintain the Design Management Plans and provide status updates to the associated Project Program for the duration of the project
• Ensure a common approach to design templates, interface management, design deliverables,
• Review and oversee design outputs to ensure compliance with the project requirements
• Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design
• Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements
• Endeavour to ensure that the design is executed such that the cost of the related constructed items, are within the project budget and minimise design rework
• Provide all necessary support to the procurement, construction and commissioning teams
• Liaise with all relevant Authorities on design and construction permits and approvals
• Monitor and control timeliness of outputs for all design and liaise with the management to ensure project requirements are satisfied
• Participate in design review meetings and close out design issues with reviewers in a timely manner;
• Participate in leadership roles for tender preparation including Engineering administrative functions;

About You

• Min. 6 years Electrical project engineering experience with strong experience within construction of large Road Infrastructure ideal
• A bachelor’s degree in a Electrical engineering discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Relevant Rail Industry Worker competencies
• Development of SHEQ process and procedures and management of others in conducting SHEQ process and procedures
