Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an Electrical Senior Project Engineer to join the Construction team in Victoria. You will lead complex infrastructure projects, delivering traction power substations from concept to commissioning, with autonomy to drive outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor of Engineering and experience in electrical construction; experience with sub-contractors and traction power is valued. Proficiency in MS Project and Excel is needed to coordinate design interfaces across disciplines

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with significant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in construction management of electrical sub-contractors preferred.
• Experience with traction power substations advantageous.
• Project reporting with MS Project and Excel required; HV/LV construction knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project delivery from concept to commissioning of traction power substations.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project continuity and success.
• Review electrical designs against contractual obligations, standards, and safety.
• Coordinate interfaces with Civil/Building/Pavement Engineers and other leads.
• Perform QA/QC inspections, develop ITPs, and support commissioning activities.
• Identify health and safety risks and ensure SWMS and corrective actions are addressed.

What's on offer?

Given our strong pipeline of work, we are seeking either an Electrical Senior Project Engineer to join our Fulton Hogan Construction team in Victoria.

The role involves working on a complex infrastructure projects with our Civil Department team as it continues to deliver a long pipeline of works. It's a dynamic position that will give you autonomy to work on projects across greater Melbourne and an opportunity to engage with and influence our team to deliver best project outcomes.

What will you be responsible for?

• Managing all phases of project delivery, from concept and design to construction and commissioning of Traction Power Substations.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring project continuity and success.
• Review of electrical design drawings and documentation against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance, best practice and ensure standardisation across projects.
• Coordinate design interfaces with Civil/Building/Pavement Project Engineers and other discipline leads.
• Perform QA/QC inspections, review/develop ITP's and commissioning support for electrical scope of work (incl. factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests).
• Identify risks to health and safety for workers and public and follow through on SWMS, special processes and corrective actions.

How you'll connect to the role?

• You will hold a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with significant experience as an Electrical Engineer
• You will, ideally, have experience in Construction in the management of electrical sub-contractors.
• Experience working in traction power substations would be advantageous.
• Experience in project reporting with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel skills will be needed along with Electrical engineering knowledge of HV/LV construction, maintenance and commissioning practices.
