This high-profile program is being delivered through a collaborative alliance model, bringing together multidisciplinary expertise across planning, design and construction to deliver complex works across the full project lifecycle.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide electrical engineering leadership across all phases of project delivery, ensuring electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical specifications, quality requirements, and project objectives.

This role is ideal for a mechanically focused project engineer with experience delivering complex water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, or process infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical works associated with water and utility infrastructure projects, including switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), power distribution systems, instrumentation, and SCADA networks.
  • Review electrical designs, specifications, and construction methodologies to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective project execution.
  • Manage the procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and control systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, Australian Standards, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to achieve project milestones while maintaining quality, safety, and budget objectives.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, variations, and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
  • Develop and manage quality documentation including ITPs, test sheets, commissioning records, and electrical completion packages.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve electrical engineering, construction, controls, and commissioning issues in collaboration with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Champion a strong safety culture through proactive risk management, electrical safety leadership, and adherence to environmental and safety management requirements.
  • Support project handover activities, including as-built documentation, commissioning dossiers, defect close-out, and asset acceptance processes.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within water, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
