The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is seeking a Senior Program Officer for a full-time, fixed-term 18-month role based in Kensington, NSW, with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the project life cycle.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering strategic and operational goals by contributing to project plans, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Monitor project deliverables against approved time, cost, and quality metrics and report on project status.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to support project governance and ensure compliance with EPMO and UNSW frameworks.
  • Track action items and contribute to governance and reporting processes.
  • Build and manage effective internal and external communications with stakeholders across the University.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to map current-state processes and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver strategic recommendations through data analysis and stakeholder insights.
  • Extract system data from front-end and back-end systems and summarise findings clearly.
  • Support change management and training initiatives related to business process and system changes.
  • Foster continuous improvement by helping embed and sustain newly designed solutions within the University.

OVERVIEW The Senior Program Officer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) is a full-time, fixed-term 18-month opportunity based in Kensington, NSW with a hybrid working model. Reporting to the Program Director within the Enterprise-wide Portfolio Management Office, this role supports complex transnational education initiatives through program coordination, stakeholder engagement, governance support, and business analysis activities. The position plays a central role in coordinating cross-border project activities and supporting program delivery across global campuses and faculties. The role requires strong communication, analytical capability, project lifecycle knowledge, and experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification combined with substantial project experience or equivalent professional expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience within transnational education (TNE) is highly desired.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise across diverse teams.
  • Experience using computer systems, applications, and university administration tools to collect and analyse data.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently using initiative.
  • Solid understanding of the project life cycle.
  • Commitment to health and safety responsibilities and UNSW values and policies.
  • Valid Australian working rights are required at the time of application.
