Job summary

Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Parramatta is inviting applications for a temporary opportunity in a leadership role overseeing centralised Child Protection and Permanency programs and system reform. The role focuses on directing staff, budgets, and service delivery across NSW with flexible working arrangements including home days and agile local office locations.

The successful candidate will lead staff, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and drive policy implementation

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or equivalent with OOHC practice experience.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and program delivery.
• Ability to travel to Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast and Northern NSW for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and delivery of centralised programs in Child Protection and Permanency and System Reform.
• Manage program budgets, operations and workplan implementation.
• Build collaborative team environment and maintain stakeholder relationships with DCJ district staff and external partners.
• Oversee resources, budgets and professional development to maximise goal achievement and cost efficiency.
• Establish an outcome-oriented culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with sector leaders to improve practice standards and capabilities.
• Deliver locally informed, evidence-based practices contributing to improved services.
