Macquarie Group seeks a Senior Product Designer for a 12-month contract to define and deliver the experience for a new private banking portfolio and investment platform. You will lead end-to-end design, collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape a tool used by private bankers to manage client portfolios and review wealth strategies.

As the sole designer on this initiative, you will translate research into compelling narratives, contribute to the design system, and drive milestones

Qualifications

• 5+ years in UX/UI or Product Design with UX research experience
• Formal education in Design, Research, HCI, or similar
• Shipped multiple digital products with strong customer experiences
• Excellent portfolio across mobile, desktop and web; native mobile focus valued
• End-to-end design across user-centered process with research, prototyping and usability testing
• AI-native design using personas, journey maps, task models, wireframes and prototypes via AI
• Experience with AI prompting for design workflows, preferably Claude
• Independent, proactive design to drive agenda in Agile environment
• Curiosity about how people use technology to create great experiences
• Wealth management/investment platforms experience is a plus

Senior Product Designer (12 month contract)

Help us define and deliver the experience for a new portfolio and investment platform supporting Macquarie's Private Bank. You will work within the Research and Design team and report to the Director of Product Design. You will lead the design work for this platform, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to shape a tool that is currently used by private bankers to manage and review client portfolios.

You’ll lead end to end design for our platform to assess the existing experience against best-practice UX standards. You'll run research with internal users, and build a prioritised backlog of opportunities in partnership with Product. Your expertise will also be key in engaging business stakeholders and bringing them along the journey, building alignment and buy-in as the design evolves, including designing AI-native, working directly in tools like Claude to move fast from concept to high-fidelity output.

In this collaborative environment, you'll work alongside Product and Engineering to tackle problems and strategically prioritise design activities and research. You'll stand as a champion for our customers, translating research findings into compelling narratives and sharing them with diverse audiences through detailed reports and persuasive presentations. As the sole dedicated designer on this initiative, you'll also connect your work back to the broader design practice, contributing to our shared design system, patterns and accessibility standards. You'll have the opportunity to influence and shape the strategic vision, translating it into clear, achievable milestones, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to turn ambitious design direction into shipped outcomes.

What you offer

• 5+ years working as a UX and UI Designer or Product Designer, including experience conducting UX research
• Formal education in a relevant field such as Design, Research, Human Computer-Interaction, or similar
• Shipped multiple digital products and understand what it takes to create exceptional customer experiences
• Excellent portfolio showcasing in-depth knowledge and experience of UX and UI for mobile, desktop and web-based applications. A focus on native mobile is highly regarded
• End-to-end experience of managing design activities across the user-centered design process including strong design research skills, iterative design and prototyping and facilitation of usability testing
• AI-native approach to design, comfortable creating high-quality artefacts such as personas, journey maps, task models, wireframes and interactive prototypes directly through AI tools, with minimal reliance on traditional design software
• Experience with AI prompting for design workflows, preferably with Claude (this is a distinct skill set to the design experience above - we don't expect 5+ years of AI prompting experience)
• Comfortable working independently and driving a design agenda with limited day-to-day design peer support
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment and resilience in the face of shifting priorities
• Boundless curiosity about how people use technology and how to create great experiences
• Highly regarded: experience with wealth management, investment platforms, or business-to-business / customer relationship environments.
