Job summary

ASC is Australia’s submarine company based in Adelaide. We seek a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead full‑cycle procurement initiatives, develop category strategies, and manage contracts in a complex defence environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to drive value-for-money outcomes and strong commercial results. The role requires a tertiary qualification and proven experience in strategic procurement, with strong negotiation and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in commerce, law, supply chain or related discipline.
• Experience in strategic procurement, category management and contract management in a complex environment.
• Strong project management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contracts law, risk management and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Membership or eligibility for CIPS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and sourcing plans that minimise risk and deliver best value for money.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams through the end-to-end category and contract lifecycle, including scope development, budgeting and risk management.
• Manage key contracts with contract owners, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Drive best practice procurement processes across the organisation.
• Establish benchmarks and performance measures for sourcing activities to achieve efficiency and cost savings targets.
