Job summary

Downer’s Energy & Utilities division seeks a Senior Procurement Advisor to lead end-to-end procurement for a major capital infrastructure project. Based in Sydney, you will manage sourcing, contracting, and supplier negotiations with subcontractors and international partners, delivering materials on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in procurement for capital projects, ideally in Energy & Utilities or construction.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Senior Procurement Advisor to support a major capital infrastructure project – a 100km, 500kV transmission line north of Sydney, enabling the energy transition to renewables.

Based in Sydney, you will run the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing and contracting to supplier negotiations working closely with subcontractors, international suppliers, project teams, and senior leadership. This is a full-time permanent position with significant responsibility for delivering materials and resources efficiently, on time and within budget.

This role is critical to Downer’s delivery of renewable energy infrastructure, ensuring commercial outcomes and project success across a high-profile, Tier 1 project.

What you’ll do

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities for the transmission line project, including sourcing, contracting, and supplier management
• Negotiate with subcontractors and international suppliers to secure materials and resources
• Collaborate with project teams and regional procurement hubs to optimise schedule and cost outcomes
