Job summary

Coogee Chemicals Pty in Brisbane, QLD, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical leadership, drive continuous improvement, and support capital and operational projects at the Queensland Chlor Alkali operations.

This role will champion process safety, mentor engineers, and manage capital projects from concept through commissioning, including the planned chlorine drumming facility at the Lytton site to support MHF status expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher in chemical engineering with evidence of professional practice.
• Proven ability to manage capital and operational projects in heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of process safety management and risk assessment methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering leadership across manufacturing operations.
• Lead process safety initiatives and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
• Guide engineering standards, compliance requirements and best practice.
• Coach engineers and operators to build capability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues.
• Lead capital and operational improvement projects from feasibility through commissioning.
• Develop business cases, project scopes, budgets, schedules and capital approvals.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Monitor project performance against safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Identify and manage project risks with ongoing stakeholder engagement.
