Job summary

TRILITY is seeking a Design and Commissioning Manager (Senior Process Engineer) to lead and coordinate the design and commissioning of municipal water and wastewater projects in NSW/VIC. Based in NSW or VIC, you’ll drive multidisciplinary teams, ensure QA and documentation, and provide technical input across the business.

• 10–15 years’ experience leading design in complex multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with project and quality management systems.
• Experience with document and drawing management systems.
• Knowledge of the water industry in Australia and New Zealand.
• Willing to travel to meet project needs.

• Implement robust QA and document management systems.
• Facilitate design reviews including HAZOP and SiD.

• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Job description

Due to a busy project portfolio and a number of growth prospects, TRILITY is looking to appoint a Design and Commissioning Manager (Senior Process Engineer skillset) to join our Projects team.

This role can be based in any of our NSW or VIC locations.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager as a subject matter expert in water and wastewater treatment systems, you’ll play a pivotal role in both the design and commissioning phases of medium to large-scale water and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects. You’ll also contribute technical insight across the wider business and help shape TRILITY’s future capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed process/mechanical design for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across projects and tenders (up to 30+ people).
• Implement robust quality assurance and document management systems.
• Facilitate design review processes including HAZOP and Safety in Design (SiD).
• Support early-stage business development with technical input and risk assessment.
• Act as Commissioning Manager on major projects, leading teams through integrated commissioning activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

What we are looking for
