Job summary

Ink Recruitment is seeking a Senior Regulatory and Privacy Lawyer for an in-house role based in Sydney. You will advise across privacy, data and regulatory matters, working closely with business teams to move initiatives forward with confidence.

This role focuses on a tech firm addressing fraud and scams, offering a hybrid working arrangement and a package of approximately AUD 260k. A pragmatic, commercially minded approach to data and privacy law is essential.

Qualifications

• Advise on privacy, data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate technology, licensing, confidentiality and data-sharing contracts.
• Support regulated customer engagements with APRA CPS 234, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 and Telecommunications Act.
• Governance, risk management and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Manage privacy requests and regulator inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Provide privacy, data and regulatory guidance to the business.
• Partner with commercial, product, marketing and data teams.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts including technology and data-sharing agreements.
• Support regulated customer engagements with compliance standards.
• Improve legal operations and contracting templates.
• Contribute to strategic projects including IP and growth initiatives.
• Resolve contract disputes by interpreting rights and obligations.
