Job summary

APD Global seeks a Senior/Principal Transmission Lines Engineer (Civil/Structural) to lead overhead transmission line projects in Australia. You will design, implement and maintain HV transmission structures, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure delivery and safety.

Requirements include Civil/Structural degree and 8+ years’ experience, proficiency in PLS-CADD, TOWER and POLE, and knowledge of AS/NZS 7000 and related standards. CPENG is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and delivery of transmission infrastructure.
• Experience in planning, design and construction of overhead Transmission Lines.
• High-voltage transmission tower design up to 500kV.
• Familiarity with Australian and international codes and standards relevant to transmission infrastructure (AS/NZS 7000, ASCE 74, ASCE 10).
• Strong analytical, coordination and communication skills.
• CPENG accreditation preferred.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a technically experienced Senior/Principal Transmission Lines Engineer (Civil/ Structural) in our GridLinkx department. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join as a member of the strongest technical leadership team of Lines Engineering in Asia Pacific. They will be overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of transmission line projects. Tasks will include technical support, troubleshooting, communication with various stakeholders, and networking within the industry.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and delivery of transmission infrastructure
• Undertake technical and non-technical activities in the planning, design and construction of overhead Transmission Lines
• Advanced proficiency in PLS software (PLS-CADD, TOWER and POLE)
• High-voltage transmission tower design (up to 500kV)
• Strong technical understanding of overhead transmission line systems, structural design, and associated standards
• Familiarity with Australian and international codes and standards relevant to transmission infrastructure (e.g., AS/NZS 7000, ASCE 74 and ASCE 10)
• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills, with a focus on quality and delivery
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPENG) accreditation is preferred
