Job summary

Unispace in Sydney is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts for commercial projects. You will partner with project teams to develop strategies, review drawings for constructability, and drive value engineering and accurate scopes.

You will lead subcontractor bid processes, develop schedules and budgets, present proposals to clients, and ensure profitability and client satisfaction while building strong relationships with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in construction estimating for commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of local markets, subcontractors, and trade requirements.
• Proven ability to scope, analyze, and manage bids across trades.
• Experience coordinating subcontractor trades and delivering projects.
• Knowledge of building codes and health & safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Vista PM software.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project teams to plan and strategize during the preconstruction phase.
• Review drawings to identify constructability issues and value engineering opportunities.
• Lead subcontractor bid processes and ensure consistency across scope and timelines.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules to enable accurate estimating and procurement.
• Prepare and update project budgets during client acquisition and initiation.
• Present proposals and budgets to clients professionally and engagingly.
• Ensure project profitability, client satisfaction, and engagement of quality subcontractors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors for a client-first approach.
