Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC in Ringwood seeks a Principal Practitioner to oversee staff and case management for prisoners on parole and post-sentence supervision. You will provide expert risk escalation guidance, incident management and quality assurance, while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

The role requires leadership, high-risk case experience and strong written reporting skills to support high-profile and sensitive cases within a legislative framework.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience and knowledge in case management of complex and/or high-risk individuals.
• Experience in best practice risk management initiatives and therapeutic work with high risk and complex individuals.
• Knowledge and experience working within a legislative framework.
• Excellent written communication skills including preparing comprehensive reports, briefings and submissions on high profile and sensitive cases.
• Well-developed leadership capabilities including providing effective staff supervision, training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of staff and case management practices across a service stream of prisoners on parole, including high-risk individuals.
• Supervise case managers monitoring prisoners on parole and individuals subject to post-sentence supervision.
• Offer advice and consultation on risk escalation behaviours, incident management and quality assurance practices and processes.
• Collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
