Job summary

SEL is seeking an experienced electrical engineer for Melbourne to apply power system expertise in protection, automation, and design. The role focuses on design, studies, testing, and commissioning across utility and industrial projects.

The candidate should have 5+ years in electric power systems, strong knowledge of PSSE/ETAP/RTDS, and be able to lead proposals, design work, and project delivery while traveling as required. Mentoring and SEL values are emphasized.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and focus area practices.
Knowledge of electric power system protection, control, and automation applications.
Knowledge of electrical power system design, studies, ICT, and protective relays.
Willing to travel at least 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Lead training and assist customers with design, configuration, validation, installation, and operation of automation and protection systems.
Oversee work within scope, schedule and budget, delivering high quality and safety.
Assist in preparing proposals for SEL equipment and systems.
Mentor staff and promote SEL values and manufacturing principles.
Perform commissioning and project management tasks as required.
