Job summary
Horizon Power in Bentley, WA is seeking a Principal Planning Engineer - Modelling & Simulation to lead the organisation's power system modelling capability. You will shape planning data, study methodologies and governance, guiding engineers across teams to deliver robust regional energy planning outcomes.

Qualifications
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in power system planning and modelling.
- Deep RMS and EMT studies expertise, including dynamic model development and validation.
- Advanced use of PowerFactory with scripting or workflow optimisation.
- Strong understanding of electricity networks and renewable integration.
- Experience developing technical standards and governance frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead modelling, simulation and planning capability for WA regional networks.
- Develop governance frameworks and planning tools for studies and data.
- Provide technical leadership on RMS/EMT studies and model validation.
- Mentor planning teams and influence technical outcomes across teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of modelling tools, data quality and methodologies.
