Job summary

Department of Education – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Senior Policy and Program Officer to amplify First Nations youth voice across Australia. In the Office for Youth you’ll help design and deliver engagement initiatives, ensuring culturally safe and inclusive approaches that reflect the diversity of young people.

You’ll work with a broad range of stakeholders, manage grants and advisory groups, run consultations, and contribute to policy reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and delivering youth engagement initiatives.
• Ability to build culturally safe, inclusive programs for First Nations communities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with government and non-government organisations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver First Nations youth engagement initiatives.
• Build trusted, culturally safe relationships with First Nations youth and stakeholders.
• Manage a Youth Advisory Group and run consultations (virtual and in-person).
• Coordinate grants partnerships and support engagement requests.
• Provide parliamentary and departmental support including briefing Ministers.
